Position Summary Department: Orlando Health Ambulatory - Outpatient Rehab Status: Full-Time | 40 hours per week Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm Title: Occupational Therapist ***Address of Practice: 1300 Hempel Avenue, Ocoee, FL 34761*** Position Summary This is for a neurologic occupational therapist for our CARF accredited, multidisciplinary clinic located at 1300 Hempel Ave, Ground floor. This individual will work with patients aged 10-adult, with neurologic conditions including stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, neurodegenerative and neuromuscular disorders. We see patients one-on-one for hour long treatment sessions, and work closely with our interdisciplinary team and physician partners. Strong interest or background in neurorehabilitation is recommended. Responsibilities Essential Functions • Evaluates patients, gathering data from the patient, physician, interdisciplinary team meetings if available, family and significant other persons and data sources. • Develops treatment plans which integrate with the continuum of care and have specific goals and objectives. • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to treat and provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned caseload. • Demonstrates the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to their age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as delineated in the departmental policies and procedures. • Demonstrates competency in the use, care and maintenance of profession specific equipment, observing safety precautions and providing verbal explanations of the equipment and its purpose. • Re-evaluates and modifies treatment plan and goals when appropriate, and prepares written documentation as required by the department, and the care team. • Recognizes and communicates when the patient has received optimal benefit from therapy. • Ensures complete documentation and accurate billing. • Adheres to State Practice Act and Standards of Practice. • Provides patient/family education as indicated. • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Qualifications Education/Training Bachelor’s degree or higher from an approved program in occupational therapy. Licensure/Certification • Maintains current Occupational Therapist license in the State of Florida-temporary permit acceptable. • Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.
