Mokaru vs. Resume Worded

Mokaru uses a profile-based system where you enter your work history once and create unlimited tailored resumes. The editor features real-time preview, drag-and-drop sections, and design customization (colors, fonts, spacing, layouts), with premium templates, fonts and designs on Plus.

Resume Worded is an analysis-first platform. You upload an existing resume (built elsewhere) and get scoring, feedback, and improvement suggestions. Its AutoFix tool can rewrite weak lines and export a DOCX, and Pro includes downloadable Google Docs and Word templates that you edit outside the platform.

There's no interactive editor for building a resume from scratch.

This means most Resume Worded users still need a separate builder or word processor to create and maintain their resume. With Mokaru, building and optimizing happen in one place.

Resume Worded offers two powerful tools. Score My Resume grades your resume out of 100 using 30+ recruiter checks, with the full report and line-by-line analysis on the Pro plan.

Targeted Resume compares your resume against a specific job description, calculates a relevancy score, and shows which keywords you match and which are missing. AutoFix can then draft rewrites of weak lines for you to approve.

Mokaru offers keyword matching that lets you paste a job description and see which keywords you're missing (a preview on Free, full on Plus). Resume Score evaluates content, layout, and best practices (the full Resume Score is on Plus). The key advantage is that optimization happens inside the editor, so you can make changes immediately.

Resume Worded's analysis is more detailed and mature, and the company says over 5 million job seekers have used it. Their line-by-line feedback with specific rewrite suggestions is particularly valuable. However, since Resume Worded has no interactive builder, you still manage your resume file outside the platform.

Mokaru's AI writing assistant is integrated into the editor. Get personalized suggestions for bullet points, summaries, and descriptions based on your actual work history. Accept, modify, or reject suggestions in real time while building.

Resume Worded's AI focuses on analysis and rewriting. When scoring your resume, it identifies weak bullet points and suggests improved versions. AutoFix drafts rewrites of weak lines from your own experience, asks follow-up questions, and lets you approve each change.

Their approach is reactive (improve what you already wrote) rather than generative (help you write from scratch).

Both approaches have value. Mokaru helps you write from the start. Resume Worded helps you improve what you've already written. The difference is workflow: Mokaru's AI works alongside you as you build, while Resume Worded's AI requires a separate review cycle.

You download a template, open it in Google Docs or Word, and edit it manually (or let AutoFix pour your content into one).

Mokaru offers curated ATS-optimized templates within its interactive builder, with premium templates, fonts and designs on Plus. The AI Design Assistant lets you describe changes in natural language.

Mokaru's templates are more practical for ongoing editing because they're part of an interactive builder with real-time preview and AI-assisted customization.

Mokaru generates cover letters from the job description and the resume you're applying with, with adjustable tone, length, and focus. Available on the Plus plan.

Resume Worded's AI Cover Letter Generator writes a letter from your resume and the job you are applying to, in about a minute. Your first full letter is free with an account; additional letters require a paid plan.

Both produce quality cover letters from your resume and the job. Mokaru lets you tune tone, length, and focus for each application. Resume Worded offers quick generation and a free first letter.

Resume Worded does not offer application tracking. Their platform is focused on resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn optimization. Once you've optimized your resume, there are no tools to manage your applications.

For any serious job search, tracking applications is essential. Without it, you miss follow-ups, forget interview details, and lose track of opportunities.

Resume Worded publishes 50+ networking email templates on their website covering LinkedIn connection requests, recruiter outreach, follow-ups, and referral requests. However, these are static blog content, not interactive tools. You copy and customize them manually.

Both provide email guidance. Mokaru's approach is integrated and automated. Resume Worded's approach is educational but manual.

Resume Worded Pro costs $49/month, $99/quarter ($33/month), or $229/year (~$19/month). The free tier gives a partial resume review and a LinkedIn review; the full reports, AI rewrites, and templates require Pro. No lifetime option is available, and plans renew automatically until cancelled.

Mokaru offers a free tier with 1-page PDF exports, limited AI usage, a keyword matching preview, and the full application tracker. Plus costs $8/week, $19/month, $49/quarter, or $149/year. A lifetime plan is available at $149 one-time.

At the monthly level, Mokaru is 61% cheaper ($19 vs $49). On annual plans, Mokaru is 35% cheaper ($149 vs $229), and Mokaru's $149 lifetime plan costs less than one year of Resume Worded Pro.

Mokaru also includes a resume builder and application tracking, and Plus adds email templates and Gmail/Outlook integration - none of which Resume Worded offers.
