Responsibilities
Job Purpose
The Inventory & Cost Manager will oversee monthly management accounts and variance analysis. Role will also manage cost accounting, inventory control of approximately $120M and budgets. The role will be a business partner for the Jazz Technical Operations and Finance teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
Manage the month-end process for inventory, ensure the delivery and insights of critical information needed for key decisions for capacity utilisation at Kent Science Park (KSP) based on the calculation of budgeted standard costs and costs related to potential scenarios. Ensures adherence to timelines and financial policies.
Acts as a business partner – partner with Finance and Tech Ops Leadership teams and take a proactive approach to understanding and managing costs. Enables Production Management with understanding of the financial implications of monthly production variances.
Create process and efficiencies for operational reporting: ensure TechOps & financial requirements are met with regard to production performance and production costs. Responsible for the delivery of a base cost for each product manufactured at KSP in the annual budgeting process through cross-functional collaboration.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
Manages inventory month end tasks including inventory reconciliation.
Drives critical analysis and delivery of insights on key variance drivers and tracking of cost of goods manufactured.
Manages the annual standard cost setting process to tight deadlines. Ensuring that manufacturing timings for each stage of production are captured and purchased material costs are agreed with procurement.
Collaborate with KSP Supply Chain for quarterly stock checks and cycle counting reviews. Writes report for SOX controls and highlights any issues. Recommends changes and engages with Supply Chain to implement them.
Review of inventory provisions liaising with production and financial accounting over provision decisions.
Responsible for ensuring that the quarterly roll out journal is based on a solid foundation of days in stock and is based on up-to-date balance sheet reconciliations.
Partner with broader Finance Leaders and team to maintain standardised corporate processes
Liaises with external and internal auditors to ensure compliance
KEY ATTRIBUTES/SKILLS/EDUCATION – ESSENTIAL
At least 5 years of experience as a chartered, certified Accountant
Experience working in a Finance team within a SOX controlled matrix environment
Good communication and presentation skills
Attention to detail, thorough and organised approach to working
Flexible with a “can do” approach, willing to get involved.
Advanced Excel
KEY ATTRIBUTES/SKILLS/EDUCATION – DESIRABLE
Experience working in a SOX controlled environment
Experience in an International complex business
Inventory accounting and Costing experience
Significant Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience, preferably SAP
