Cashier II

Purpose of Role

The Cashier II exists to deliver fast, accurate, and professional service while safeguarding cash integrity at the store level. This role supports smooth daily operations by processing transactions correctly, maintaining disciplined balancing routines, and creating a welcoming customer experience.

In support of our mission to be the most trusted operator in The Bahamas, you build trust through accurate cash handling, consistent hospitality, clear product knowledge, and responsible promotion of approved store offers.

What You Will Take Ownership Of

  • Processing customer transactions accurately (deposits, withdrawals, payouts, receipts), ensuring the correct amounts are received and issued, and verifying payouts in the system before disbursing cash.
  • Maintaining strict cash control discipline by counting float at the start and end of shift, balancing transactions to required reports, securing cash appropriately, and escalating irregularities immediately.
  • Delivering a consistent customer experience by greeting customers, communicating clearly, answering questions accurately, and providing warm, professional hospitality throughout the shift.
  • Maintaining strong product and promotion knowledge, confidently communicating approved store promotions and services in a helpful, compliant way that improves the customer experience without compromising cash controls or accuracy.
  • Supporting store readiness by arriving on time, maintaining cleanliness and brand standards during the shift, keeping concession items tidy, and verifying supplies and deliveries when a Supervisor is not present.

What You Will Solve: You are trusted to resolve routine customer enquiries, correct basic transaction issues within your training, maintain service flow during busy periods, promote approved offers confidently, and escalate anything outside your authority promptly — without disrupting store operations.

Who You Will Collaborate With You will report to the District/Store Manager (Family Islands) or District and Safety Supervisors (Nassau) and work closely with Security/Safety Officers and other Cashiers to ensure the store remains customer-ready, safe, and operational throughout each shift.

How Your Impact Will Be Measured

  • Cash Accuracy: Float counts are correct and shift balances match required reports with minimal variances.
  • Transaction Quality: Deposits, withdrawals, and payouts are processed correctly, with receipts issued for all transactions.
  • Customer Hospitality: Customers are greeted consistently and supported with professional, respectful service.
  • Product & Promotion Confidence: Approved promotions and services are communicated accurately and consistently to customers.
  • Store Standards: Store cleanliness, presentation, and concession displays remain aligned with PG Brand Standards throughout the shift.

Who Is the Ideal Person Experience & Skills

  • High school diploma (basic)
  • Computer literacy and data entry capability
  • Strong numeracy and attention to detail with the ability to balance accurately
  • Confident communicator with a customer-first mindset and professional presence
  • Able to remain calm, accurate, and courteous under pressure
