Job description

Overview

Keysight is at the forefront of technology innovation, delivering breakthroughs and trusted insights in electronic design, simulation, prototyping, test, manufacturing, and optimization. Our ~16,800 employees create world-class solutions in communications, 5G, automotive, energy, quantum, aerospace, defense, and semiconductor markets for customers in over 100 countries. Learn more about what we do.

Our award-winning culture embraces a bold vision of where technology can take us and a passion for tackling challenging problems with industry-first solutions. We believe that when people feel a sense of belonging, they can be more creative, innovative, and thrive at all points in their careers.

Responsibilities

Our team, part of Keysight Laboratories’ High Frequency Technology Center (HFTC), builds and supports hardware and software solutions that electrically test Process Control Monitors (PCM’s) on wafers made in Keysight’s Santa Rosa wafer fabrication facilities. HFTC’s ability to rapidly innovate and deliver the world’s best high frequency technology provides fundamental differentiation for electronic measurement products. The responsibility of a R&D Test Engineering Technician is to help facilitate rapid data acquisition of electrical performance of on-wafer PCM’s, ensuring first-pass, quality data is sent to our Integration Engineering Team. Test Technicians are the first line of defense during test, responding first to operator test issues, coordinating testing order, and ensuring recipe and system health.

Job Description

This role will support In-Fab Test Engineers to ensure quality data acquisition on III-V and Silicon Process Control Monitors, as well as R&D one-off Reliability Structures. Test Engineering Technicians will

  • Create tool recipes, monitor probe inventories, and help to ensure quality data acquisition with first-pass success
  • Become an expert on the On-Wafer Test Probers, helping to train operators, and act as the first responder during test/system issues
  • Continuously learn, and grow to develop a deeper understanding of not only the systems, but also the test software infrastructure, helping to write, edit, and debug test algorithms
  • Learn and improve the semiconductor processes, helping to give feedback to Test Engineers and Integration Engineers about the meaning of the test results, and how that corresponds to a given semiconductor process

Qualifications

Requires higher education or specialized training/certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Typically minimum of 5 years relevant experience as a Test technician or Manufacturing Technician out of semiconductor industry or other high-tech manufacturing industry

Experience with on-wafer microwave test and calibration

Operating knowledge of RF/Microwave test equipment and testing procedures is desirable

Operating knowledge of software programming and debugging is desirable

Operating knowledge of Wafer Probers is desirable

Operating knowledge of SPECS Test Framework is desirable

Ability and desire to work on rapidly paced projects with several development tasks

Ability to work effectively as a member of a larger team in multiple functional areas (R&D, Operations, Maintenance)

Candidates must have excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and communication skills for successful inter and intra-group interactions.

Location: This role requires an in-person, hands-on engineer who can physically work with the test systems in Santa Rosa, CA.
