JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Franklin, Louisiana Facility: Bayou Bend Health System Health System: SCP Health - Locums Coverage Period: May 01, 2026 – Ongoing Shift Schedule: Days/Nights, 7a – 7p and 7p – 7a Reason for Coverage: Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: Approximately 68 patients per day (25,000 annual volume) Case Mix: Consistent with Emergency Medicine procedures Rounding: Not Required Phone Consults: No FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Epic Specialty Backup Available: Most adult subspecialties available (no Neurosurgery) Support Staff Available: RNs PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC/BE in Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or ABIM/ABFM with EM experience Licenses: Active Louisiana license or willingness to obtain DEA / CDS: Active DEA with LA address required Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS required Experience: Residency trained in Emergency Medicine required; moonlighting available for EM residents DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide single-coverage emergency department care for approximately 25,000 annual visits Perform required emergency medicine procedures Admit or transfer patients as needed (8% admission/transfer rate) Work 12-hour day and night shifts (7a-7p / 7p-7a) Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and order entry
