Roles and Responsibilities:
This role requires deep, demonstrable expertise in Tableau and will be central to converting complex financial and operational data into critical business insights.
Core Responsibilities (Tableau Mastery)
The primary focus of this role is on the entire Tableau development lifecycle:
Advanced Tableau Development:
Solely responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of executive and operational dashboards using Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server/Cloud.
Implement advanced Tableau techniques, including Level of Detail (LOD) expressions, complex custom calculations, calculated fields, parameters, and action filters to solve specific business problems.
Optimize Tableau workbooks and data sources for maximum performance and fast rendering across various access methods.
Data Sourcing & Preparation:
Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract and structure data specifically for consumption in Tableau.
Utilize Tableau Desktop (or similar tools) for building reports with visualization.
Fintech Insight Generation:
Collaborate with stakeholders in Finance and Risk to define key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to our fintech business (e.g., risk scoring, portfolio health, revenue forecasting).
Create compelling, story-driven visualizations that communicate complex financial trends and risks simply and effectively.
Deployment & Governance:
Manage data connections, publish data sources, and administer security settings on Tableau Server to govern access and ensure data integrity.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience: 3-5 years of focused experience, with at least 3 years dedicated to Tableau development.
Tableau Proficiency (Mandatory):
Expertise in the full suite of Tableau products (Desktop, Server/Cloud, Prep).
Demonstrated portfolio of complex, production-ready Tableau dashboards.
Data Querying (Mandatory):
Expert-level command of SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
Domain Knowledge (Highly Preferred):
Proven experience working with data in the Fintech, Banking, or Financial Services sectors.
Soft Skills: Proven ability to engage with non-technical business leaders to understand their data needs and translate them into accurate, visual reports.
Desired Skills (Bonus Points)
Tableau Certification (e.g., Tableau Certified Data Analyst, Desktop Specialist).
Experience with Python or R for advanced statistical analysis feeding into Tableau.
