Job Title: Term-Appointed Employee - Scenic Construction
Department: Theatre
Employment Type: Temporary | NonExempt | On-Site
Hourly Range: $ 30-35/hour, salary commensurate with relevant experience.
Boston College Theatre Department is seeking a term-appointed, part-time employee for the 2026-2027 Academic year (end August -beginning May). Flexible Schedule based on the needs of the theatre, most weeks between 12-29 hrs.
- Provide training, supervision and mentorship for student employees and those enrolled in the Scene Construction/Paint Prep Lab.
- Will oversee, in coordination with the Production Manager, the construction and rigging of scenic elements for Theatre Departments productions.
- Provide instruction in building crafts, technical skills and safety practices.
- Manage the procurement and maintenance of all scenery supplies and equipment and should be able to instruct students in a variety of skills in advanced scenery construction in coordination with the Production Manager.
- Any other tasks as given by the Production Manager.
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent and three to five years of related experience.
- OSHA certification, student shop supervision experience preferred.
