The Role

We're seeking an analytical and collaborative Business Analyst to join our Operational Systems and Performance team on a 12-month maximum term contract , helping to drive business improvement, enhance reporting capabilities and support key operational initiatives.

You will support the delivery of TasWater's Operations reporting and Operations Essentials program of work, helping improve business processes, reporting visibility and operational performance across the organisation. Working closely with stakeholders from across Operations, you'll play an important role in identifying opportunities for improvement, gathering and analysing data, documenting business processes, and supporting key project outcomes.

In this role, you will

  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into practical solutions.
  • Conduct business analysis, process mapping and requirements gathering activities.
  • Identify and document current and future-state business processes.
  • Support the delivery of Operations reporting and KPI initiatives.
  • Analyse data from multiple sources to improve visibility and decision-making.
  • Assist with workshops, stakeholder consultation and engagement activities.
  • Prepare reports, presentations and documentation for a variety of audiences.
  • Contribute to project coordination, implementation activities and quality assurance processes.
  • Work collaboratively across Operations and with external delivery partners to achieve program outcomes.

What we're looking for

We're seeking someone who enjoys solving problems, working with data and building strong relationships across a diverse stakeholder group.

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring

  • Demonstrated experience in business analysis, process improvement or project support environments.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to gather, interpret and present information clearly.
  • Experience documenting business requirements, workflows and process maps.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within tight timeframes.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and proven ability to work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Experience working with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI, data warehouses and SQL queries.
  • A proactive approach, with the ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • A current Class C Driver's Licence.

Highly regarded

  • Experience supporting programs or projects within utilities, infrastructure or similar operational environments.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and frameworks.
  • An interest in digital transformation, emerging technologies and data-driven decision making.

The Details

This role can be based in either Hobart, Launceston, or Devonport and attracts a salary range of $106,708.64- $112,636.89 per annum (inclusive of superannuation), negotiable dependent on experience.
