Job description

You will lead a project team responsible for designing water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, lift stations, and other related infrastructure for water and wastewater projects. Your role will involve performing design calculations, hydraulic modeling, facility layout planning, equipment selection, coordinating with support disciplines, working with equipment vendors and regulatory bodies, and conducting quality reviews. Occasional travel may be required for site assessments and construction support.

Responsibilities

  • Design water and wastewater treatment systems
  • Assess, select, and implement water and wastewater equipment
  • Design pump stations and select appropriate pumps
  • Design chemical storage and feed systems
  • Design blower systems and determine blower sizing
  • Create process flow diagrams
  • Develop piping and instrumentation diagrams
  • Prepare specifications and contract documentation
  • Provide support for construction activities
  • Oversee the creation of construction drawings and 3D models
  • Assist the Process Mechanical Group Leader in team management, scheduling, budget monitoring, and ensuring quality work aligned with company standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical, or biosystems/agricultural engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • 10+ years of experience in designing water/wastewater treatment facilities, lift stations, and booster pump stations
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
  • Familiarity with hydraulic modeling software like Visual Hydraulics
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and control systems engineers

Preferred qualifications

  • Masters degree in civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical, or a related field
  • Certification as a Pump Systems Assessment Professional
  • Experience with Bluebeam software
  • Active involvement in professional organizations
