Job description

Overall Purpose

The Accounts Manager will

  • Ensure strong accounting and reporting practices, including overseeing and monitoring an effective control environment and providing sound financial advice to the management team.
  • Prepare financial statements, budget reports, forecasts, cost analysis reports, and make appropriate financial recommendations.
  • Monitor and provide financial analysis and support to the GCFO/GDCFO on business transactions and departmental performance.

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage all accounting, financial reporting, analysis, and interpretation of operating financial data.
  • Ensure all reports are prepared and communicated to the reporting line on a timely basis with complete and accurate figures.
  • Manage teams to coordinate and deliver on internal and external reporting requirements, ensuring all deadlines and standards are met.
  • Take ownership of the audit process by liaising with external auditors, providing necessary documentation in a timely manner, and preparing financial statements.
  • Ensure all accounts are prepared in accordance with the latest accounting standards.

Monitor and ensure the accuracy of budgets and financial reporting.

Ensure all financial statements are complete, accurate, and compliant with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and applicable industry standards.

  • Monitor and enhance compliance controls, structures, and automated processes to ensure effective financial management and control.
  • Assist in coordinating annual audit engagements with internal and external auditors to ensure audit requirements are met promptly.
  • Lead, plan, coordinate, and manage the accounting team, including supporting the development of their skills and knowledge.
  • Responsible for efficiently performing any other related duties as requested by the Head of Department.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

ACCA or ACA Qualified

At least 5 years of experience with a strong financial and technical accounting background

Experience in auditing is an advantage

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Leadership qualities to drive team performance

Sound knowledge of accounting fundamentals, including IFRS9

Compliance-oriented with auditing experience

Proficient in ERP software and technology-friendly

Strong analytical skills and sense of initiative

Proficiency in written and verbal communication, report writing, and presentation skills
