Senior Software Validation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Designs, implements, debugs, and executes system-level test protocols
• Develop software test tools for verification and validation of medical systems.
• Design, recommend, and implement new tests to improve product robustness and quality.
• Analyze system-level product requirements to develop most effective test strategies
• Creates product release documentation, including verification and validation plans and test reports for new software releases.
• Provides support to current product engineering and support resources to resolve tough Customer issues.
• Build and implement a V&V test process that is compatible with our Agile scrum sprints.
• Analyze field reports and/or returned products and recommends corrective action for future improvements.
• Interface among multiple departments and teams including Quality and Service etc.
• Mentor other junior V&V engineers

Education

B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field

Required Experience

• Five plus years experience in system-level software validation and testing.
• Expertise in system level integration testing projects and sub-systems is required.
• Team player with ability to work within project teams.
• Knowledge of computing software, operating systems, networking, and IT infrastructure is required.
• Strong communication both oral and written and problem solving skills.
• Competence in scripting languages such as Python, or Bash shell.
• Experience in test automation and writing test scripts using Python or other scripting tools is required.
• Organizational skills essential
• Test automation experience is preferred.
• Prior work in a regulated environment like medical device industry is preferred.
• Familiarity to Agile methodology is preferred.

Irvine, CA: The salary range for this position is $89,240- $165,600

Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors, including, but not limited to: job-related knowledge; skills; experience; and other eligibility factors such as geographic location.
