Job Summary

The Financial Controller will oversee the full spectrum of financial operations at Quest Hotel & Conference Center Cebu, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strategic cost management, and compliance with corporate and statutory requirements. This role serves as the financial backbone of the hotel, partnering with operations and ownership to drive profitability, efficiency, and sustainable growth.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality finance , proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control , and a track record of leading multi-functional finance teams in hotel environments.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Reporting

Oversee finance operations including accounting, payroll, income audit, credit, purchasing, and cost control.

Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).

Conduct monthly P&L reviews, cash flow analysis, and executive summaries for management and ownership.

Ensure proper accounting of accruals, asset tagging, and reconciliations for all financial transactions.

Budgeting & Forecasting

Lead annual budgeting processes across all departments; prepare monthly forecasts aligned with corporate expectations.

Provide variance analysis, revenue projections, and actionable insights to optimize hotel performance.

Track weekly cash flow, ensuring funding availability for operational needs.

Cost Control & Strategic Management

Implement strategic cost control measures in Food & Beverage, Rooms, Spa, and other operational areas.

Conduct regular inventory audits, operating equipment checks, and procurement oversight.

Analyze operational performance and provide recommendations to enhance revenue and reduce unnecessary costs.

Compliance & Internal Controls

Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, labor laws, and accounting standards.

Maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent financial discrepancies.

Facilitate internal and external audits and respond to audit findings.

Team Leadership & Development

Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team across multiple functional areas.

Establish standard operating procedures and best practices for finance operations.

Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement within the department.

Stakeholder Engagement

Serve as the primary finance contact for owners, corporate offices, and other key stakeholders.

  • Provide strategic financial guidance for operational decision-making and investment planning.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA license required .

Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in hospitality finance, with exposure to multi-property management.

Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and P&L management .

Experience with hospitality systems (Opera PMS, Infrasys, Oracle, SUN) and accounting software (Xero, SAP, QuickBooks).

Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
