As our Finance Officer, you'll play an important role in supporting the City's financial operations across both Revenue and Expenditure Services. From processing and reconciling financial transactions to administering bonds, supplier payments and financial records, you'll help ensure the delivery of efficient and reliable financial services across the organisation.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, community facilities and external service providers, you'll contribute to continuous improvement while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining strong financial controls.
What You'll Be Doing
- Process and reconcile financial returns from City out-centres
- Administer security bonds, deposits and verge bonds
- Perform monthly reconciliations across bonds, suspense accounts, credit cards and other financial records
- Process and validate supplier invoices and credit notes
- Manage utility accounts and related financial transactions
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
- Respond to finance-related enquiries from internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Monitor shared mailboxes and provide timely customer service
- Support process improvement initiatives and system enhancements
- Provide cross-functional support across Revenue and Expenditure Services
What You'll Bring
We're looking for a finance professional who enjoys working with numbers, delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining a high level of accuracy. You'll ideally bring:
- Minimum three years' experience in bookkeeping, accounts or finance administration
- Sound knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting procedures
- Strong reconciliation and financial processing experience
- Working knowledge of GST legislation
- Experience using computerised accounting systems and reporting tools
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Experience with TechnologyOne and knowledge of Local Government finance practices will be highly regarded.

This position is Maximum Term Full Time until August 2027.
