Associate Director, Global Data Strategy & Governance
Job description
REQUIREMENTS:
- Total experience 13+ years.
- Strong experience in Data Strategy, Data Governance, Data Management, or Enterprise Data Transformation.
- Proven experience designing and implementing Global Capability Centre (GCC) or Shared Services operating models.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise data governance, metadata management, data lineage, data quality, and data privacy.
- Experience with enterprise data governance platforms such as Collibra, data catalogues, lineage tools, and data quality solutions.
- Strong understanding of global regulatory frameworks, including BCBS 239, ECB, Federal Reserve, and Operational Resilience requirements.
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale global transformation programmes across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC.
- Excellent strategic planning, stakeholder management, governance, and executive communication skills.
- Proven expertise in portfolio management, demand prioritization, workforce planning, and resource optimization.
- Experience in financial services or another highly regulated industry is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Relevant certifications (e.g., CDMP, DCAM, PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) are an advantage. Fluency in English is required, and Japanese language proficiency is desirable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define and execute the global Data Strategy aligned with enterprise objectives and regional business priorities.
- Develop and maintain a multi-year transformation roadmap, including capability maturity milestones and transition planning.
- Design, implement, and govern the Global Data Shared Services Target Operating Model (TOM), including demand management, service delivery, and ownership frameworks.
- Establish standardized governance, service management, KPI, SLA, and performance reporting frameworks across global data operations.
- Lead global demand intake, prioritization, resource planning, and capacity management to optimize delivery across internal teams and strategic vendor partners.
- Drive the transition from regionally fragmented operations to a globally aligned, scalable shared services model.
- Partner with regional data leaders, business stakeholders, technology teams, and vendor partners to ensure alignment on strategic priorities and delivery commitments.
- Lead governance forums, executive steering committees, and decision-making processes while managing escalations and organizational risks.
- Deliver strategic transformation initiatives, including shared services implementation, onboarding frameworks, and operational excellence programs.
- Build, lead, and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
