Area Sales Manager

  • Located in Johannesburg and reporting to the Regional Sales Director, the Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth for the full portfolio of Honeywell aftermarket business Aviation products with a focus on RMUs (Retrofits, Modifications and Upgrades) in the African market.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a consultant for unveiling needs at the operator level, converting these needs into business opportunities and winning those to meet the revenue targets and AOP.
  • Promote the full portfolio, including RMUs and services to operators.
  • Work closely with Customer & Product Support and Aftermarket Business leadership to present a simple way of doing business to the customers
  • Ensure Customer Relationship Management process is applied to Customers within assigned territory
  • Opportunity Identification facilitated through constant customer interactions, seminars, customer visits, city sweeps, trade shows and events
  • Ensure applicable pursuit/campaign management is applied for new product offerings and services introduced into the region. Use Salesforce.com.
  • Engage closely with the Channel Partners in the Region to have them upselling upgrades.
  • Responsible for customer strategy execution, forecast/demand input to SIOP, pricing recommendations, & competitive intelligence feedback

YOU MUST HAVE Experience & Qualifications: Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in sales – as consultative selling -
  • Possess strong relationship building and negotiating skills
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field of study
  • 5 years of experience in Aerospace, preferably in avionics

Additional Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Good understanding of technology marketing, strategic planning, business and market development, customer & product marketing
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ownership and accountability for areas of responsibility
  • Outstanding organizational skills with ability to prioritize
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
  • Pilot license would be beneficial
