Job description

Part of M&C Saatchi, this specialist division partners with governments, civil society, academia, and the private sector, to work on the critical issues of our time, including, conflict prevention and sustainable development. Our work is domestic and global, often affecting the most vulnerable in society, with international activity orientated towards conflict affected or developing countries.

A specialist research team exists within the company to provide formative research support and to evaluate the progress of multimedia messaging campaigns. The Senior Research Manager/Associate Research Director will lead and manage the design and delivery of this research, applying quantitative and qualitative research methods.

You’ll join a lovely bunch of passionate communications professionals, creative thinkers, media analysts and problem solvers in developing audience focused solutions, to complex communications challenges

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Work

Assist with the design and implementation of formative research and evaluation strategies for multiple communications campaigns simultaneously

Analyse datasets to produce (write) baseline, midline and endline reports, which may vary in depth and scope, according to client requirements

Provide peer review analysis and lead on analysis process and report structure

Other research tasks, including but not limited to: open-source research; desk reviews; lessons learned/best practice write ups; etc

Sense of responsibility to towards the organisation’s reputation

Relationships

Manage a small team of Analysts and provide regular training and upskilling

Relationship management with research partners who perform the primary research on behalf of the organisation

Represent the research team internally, with especial regard to working with the accounts, strategy and production teams

ABOUT YOU

Essential

Minimum of 5 years relevant research, monitoring and evaluation experience

Experience evaluating the impact/effectiveness of multimedia communications activity

Understanding of best practice for conducting research across Asian markets

A firm interest and understanding of geo-politics and International Relations

Experience designing logical frameworks (logframes) and assessment strategies

Experience designing and conducting both quantitative and qualitative research studies is a requirement

Experience managing research projects from design to report writing

Strong qualitative and quantitative analysis skills (with experience using Q, SPSS, R or Stata)

Strong report writing and data visualisations skills

Good communication skills including experience presenting research findings and explaining technical concepts to multiple stakeholders including non-researchers, clients, etc

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

Fluent in written and spoken English

Proficient in all components of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel)

Desirable

Experience with evaluating behavioural change

Knowledge of Strategic Communications

Experience with digital and innovative research methods

Experience using data visualisation software such as tableau
