Job description

Role Overview We’re looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Business Analyst to transform complex commercial and operational data into clear, actionable insights. In this role, you’ll work hands-on with data, leveraging advanced Excel skills to perform calculations, build models, and support strategic decision-making.

The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating large datasets, designing quantitative analyses, and communicating key findings effectively. Flexibility to work within European CET business hours is preferable.

Key Responsibilities •Perform detailed quantitative analyses on large datasets (e.g., sales, performance, operational or market data) using advanced Excel techniques. •Build, maintain, and enhance Excel models and calculators (e.g., forecasting tools, performance trackers, scenario and sensitivity models, ROI calculators). •Clean, validate, and reconcile data from multiple sources, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and traceability of all numbers and formulas. •Design clear tables, charts, and summary views in Excel and PowerPoint to communicate analytical findings and key metrics to internal stakeholders. •Document calculation logic, key assumptions, and data sources so that models are transparent, auditable, and easy to reuse. •Run ad-hoc analyses on short timelines, structuring problems, selecting appropriate methods, and delivering concise numeric answers. •Continuously improve existing files by optimizing formulas, simplifying structures, improving performance, and standardizing formats and naming conventions.

  • This role will support Europe counterparts and may need to observe European time zone (mid shift) from time to time.

Skills and Experience •Strong analytical and numerical skills, with substantial hands-on experience working with large datasets in Excel on a daily basis. •Proficiency with advanced Excel features, including nested formulas, lookup/indexing functions, pivot tables, conditional logic, error handling, and what-if or scenario analysis; basic VBA/macro skills are a plus. •Proven experience in a data-driven role (e.g., business analyst, data analyst, financial analyst or commercial analyst), ideally in a data-rich environment such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, FMCG, or technology. •High attention to detail, with a rigorous approach to checking formulas, reconciling numbers, and documenting changes. •Ability to translate business questions into structured analytical approaches and to clearly explain model logic and conclusions to non-technical colleagues.

Education and Tools •Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, business, or related field (e.g., economics, engineering, mathematics, mathematics, statistics, business administration). •Advanced Excel skills required; familiarity with additional analytical tools (e.g., Power BI/Tableau, SQL, or statistical tools) is an advantage but not the primary focus of the role.

Personal Attributes •Structured and methodical working style with a strong sense of ownership for the quality of numbers and files produced. •Curious, solution-oriented mindset with a willingness to dive deep into data and iterate models when new questions arise. •Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small analytical team, managing multiple parallel tasks and deadlines.
