About The Role

Asbestos Supervisor- Urenco, Capenhurst

Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Asbestos Supervisor to join the team at Urenco - Capenhurst for site works.

This role will involve working 38 hour weeks Monday - Friday, with an immediate start available.

The position is paid under NAECI Spirit agreements (£24.43 with hourly bonus).

Must be local to site

The role is until 09/03/2027 approx.

Role details

The role requires the supervision of a small team of asbestos operatives working on licensed and non-licensed work and moving on to a larger project once complete.

You will be working under an onsite asbestos manager & senior supervisor all paperwork will be provided to carry out the work.

The right candidate must be up to date on current asbestos legislation and able to work within strict company procedures. Must be able to complete and keep up to date all of the relevant equipment checks. We are looking for a reliable & conscientious supervisor with a can do attitude and an eye for detail. Potential to progress within the company.

Key Deliverables

  • Have an understanding of Company safety policy and ensure that it is complied with
  • Supervising team of Asbestos Operatives
  • Capability to write up Plan of works, method statements and risk assessments
  • Work in a safe manner at all times, avoiding any unnecessary risks
  • Use of a variety Asbestos stripping techniques
  • Undertake pre-job briefs and risk assessments
  • Complete all appropriate paperwork associated with the task as requested by Altrad, client and HSE guidelines
  • Supervise general stripping and removal of materials in line with minimal training requirements
  • Observing other asbestos removal activities to ensure safety and compliance to guidelines and safety requirements

Key Requirements / Qualifications

  • IOSH Managing Safely or SSSTS (Desirable)
  • Asbestos Medical
  • ACAD or ARCA Supervisor Training Certification
  • Experienced on Nuclear / Power / Petro Chemical Sites
  • Experienced in supervising Asbestos Operatives
  • General Health & Safety Experience
  • Face Fit Tests (Full & Half Mask)
  • Experienced in generating Asbestos Plans of Work Information
  • Knowledge in Microsoft packages such as word
  • Full UK Driving licence
  • Willing to undergo SC clearance upon starting at site
