Entry-Level Automotive Reconditioning Coordinator Position Summary
The Automotive Reconditioning Coordinator is responsible for managing the flow of vehicles through the dealership's reconditioning process to ensure inventory is prepared efficiently and on schedule for retail sale. This position serves as a liaison between the Service Department and the New and Used Vehicle Sales Departments, coordinating repairs, inspections, and vehicle readiness while maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and a commitment to delivering exceptional internal customer service.
Reporting Structure
Reports directly to: • Service Director
Works closely with: • New Vehicle Sales Manager • Used Vehicle Sales Manager • Service Advisors • Shop Foreman • Detail Department • Sales Staff • Parts Department
Essential Responsibilities • Coordinate all aspects of the vehicle reconditioning process from intake to completion. • Monitor vehicle status and prioritize work to meet sales department deadlines. • Schedule inspections, maintenance, repairs, detailing, and quality control inspections. • Maintain accurate records of repair orders, reconditioning costs, and vehicle status. • Communicate daily with Service and Sales management regarding vehicle progress and completion timelines. • Follow up with technicians, advisors, and vendors to ensure timely completion of repairs. • Ensure all required repairs meet dealership quality standards before vehicles are released for sale. • Assist in identifying process improvements that reduce cycle time and increase inventory availability. • Maintain organized records and update dealership management systems accurately. • Escalate delays or issues that may impact vehicle availability.
Qualifications • High school diploma or GED required. • Previous automotive dealership experience is preferred but not required. • Strong computer and data entry skills. • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. • Professional demeanor with a positive, team-oriented attitude. • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
