Position Overview
Hospitality Health ER is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to help keep our emergency room facilities in Tyler, Texas safe, functional, and patient-ready at all times. This full-time position is essential to our mission of delivering exceptional care in a clean, professional, and fully operational environment.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable addressing both routine maintenance tasks and urgent facility needs with confidence and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Quality Assurance Director, the Maintenance Technician will:
Complete assigned maintenance work orders efficiently and on time
Respond to emergency maintenance requests and participate in scheduled on-call coverage
Perform general facility maintenance, including
Minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC repairs
Light bulb replacement, paint touch-ups, and minor drywall repairs
Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain building systems and equipment
Assemble, install, and repair furniture, cabinetry, shelving, appliances, and equipment according to manufacturer specifications
Ensure proper functionality of safety and life-safety systems
Coordinate and collaborate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams during renovations or facility projects
Assist with facility improvement projects such as painting, landscaping, power washing, and parking lot striping
Attend maintenance- and construction-related meetings as needed
Operate a company vehicle for work-related assignments
Maintain a professional appearance and comply with all company policies and safety protocols
Position Requirements
Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented mindset
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
Flexibility to meet scheduling needs, including on-call responsibilities
High level of integrity and accountability when handling company resources (credit card, petty cash, vehicle)
Valid, unrestricted driver’s license
Ability to work professionally with staff, leadership, and physicians
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of two (2) years of related maintenance experience
Experience with painting and drywall repair
Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
Proficiency with hand and power tools
Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and drawings
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
This position requires the ability to
Stand and walk for extended periods
Bend, stoop, push, pull, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks
Lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds or more as needed
Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Work indoors and outdoors, with exposure to varying weather conditions
Perform duties in fast-paced or potentially stressful environments
Safely handle chemicals and hazardous materials
Tolerate potential exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids
