Software Development Lead Engineer - Waters Connect
Job description
Overview
We are building a engineering team to explore new technologies and help shape the future direction of our software platform. You will work across existing applications, proof-of-concept development and integration work, with opportunities to explore areas such as AI and agentic integrations. This role includes front-end and back-end engineering. Angular will be used in the role, but we are open to candidates whose front-end experience comes from other modern frameworks. The role spans both on-premise and cloud-connected software, so cloud experience is beneficial but not essential.
Responsibilities
- 5-8 years Development experience in C#.NET, and Angular (or related discipline).
- Extensive knowledge and proven experience as a software developer, with exposure to elements of our back-end technology stack including C#.NET, Unit Tests (NUNIT, JUNIT etc.,) & SQL and Angular
- Experience working with Microservices, API development, writing unit tests for the methods with positive, negative scenarios.
- Knowledge and application of software engineering practices, e.g. Unit testing, SOLID principles, BDD, etc.
- Proven ability to analyse, scope, size, design and develop complex features
- Proven ability to work as part of an Agile delivery team.
- Ability to analyse and solve problems.
- Excellent communication and team working skills.
Basic understanding of cloud development and AI tools integration to devlopment

- Familiarity with MCP client/server concepts or a willingness to learn quickly.
- Experience with both on-premise software and cloud-based systems.
- Exposure to APIs, CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, or modern development tooling.
