Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Utilities Engineer to join our team based in RAK, UAE.

We envisage success in this role to include;

  • Supervise the construction of wet and dry utility infrastructure works.
  • Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.
  • Review and monitor construction methodologies, shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements related to utility works.
  • Inspect utility installations, including water supply, sewerage, stormwater drainage, irrigation, electrical, telecommunications, and other utility networks.
  • Coordinate with contractors, local authorities, utility providers, and other stakeholders to facilitate approvals and project delivery.
  • Monitor testing, commissioning, and handover activities for utility systems.
  • Identify construction issues and provide technical recommendations to ensure timely resolution.
  • Prepare inspection reports, site observations, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and progress updates.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality management requirements.
  • Attend progress meetings and coordinate with the Resident Engineer and multidisciplinary project team.

Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 15 years work experience partnered with a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in utilities engineering, construction supervision, or infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience supervising large-scale infrastructure developments involving:
  • Water supply networks
  • Sewerage systems
  • Stormwater drainage
  • Irrigation systems
  • Wet and dry utilities
  • Strong knowledge of UAE and international engineering standards.
  • Experience coordinating with utility authorities and relevant government agencies.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering software relevant to infrastructure projects.
  • Previous experience on large mixed-use, residential, township, or infrastructure developments.
  • UAE or GCC construction supervision consultancy experience.
  • Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and construction supervision procedures.
  • Experience working with leading engineering consultancies on infrastructure projects.
