Pump Mechanic

Overview
The Pump Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing a variety of pumps and rotating equipment. This role ensures equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably while following company and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair centrifugal, reciprocating, and positive displacement pumps.
- Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble pumps and related equipment.
- Replace bearings, seals, gaskets, impellers, shafts, and other mechanical components.
- Perform preventative maintenance on pumps, motors, and rotating equipment.
- Align pumps and motors using manual or laser alignment tools.
- Conduct performance testing and verify proper equipment operation after repairs.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and equipment specifications.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
- Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements.
- Work with operations and maintenance teams to minimize equipment downtime.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience repairing industrial pumps or rotating equipment preferred.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and experience using hand and power tools.
- Ability to read measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and repair manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must meet conditional job offer requirements.
