Job Description

As a Security Officer Licensed Patrol Guard in Staten Island, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a busy government transportation location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and support visitors with strong customer service and communication. In this role, you will reflect our agile, reliable, and innovative approach while working with a caring team that puts people first and acts with integrity every day.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to visitors, passengers, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts and/or public agencies as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of terminals, public access areas, waiting areas, boarding points, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and/or policy concerns.
• Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry into restricted or staff-only areas while following post instructions and reporting concerns through proper channels.
• Support crowd management and orderly movement during arrivals, departures, delays, and/or service changes while providing directions and general assistance to the public.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
• A minimum of 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
