Responsibilities
Overview
As part of the OSS manufacturing operations team, this role is responsible for enabling high-rate manufacturing of our payload and spacecraft products. The position involves manufacturing engineering excellence spanning from the lowest‑level components, through sub‑system and full system levels of production.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform manufacturing engineering process design used by technician staff on the floor. Process development is performed from the lowest level of components, through sub-system and the system level.
- Design manufacturing flows and manufacturing lines for optimal, cost-effective high complexity, medium volume manufacturing of space products.
- Lead prototype builds ensuring incremental milestones for the production development are met.
- Ensure manufacturing systems can hit high volume rate, cost, and quality targets.
- Identify tooling and hardware requirements, design and implement them into production processes.
- Identify automation opportunities and establish requirements as well as evaluate return on investment for each.
- Work with in-house resources or vendors as necessary to develop these solutions and implement on the production line.

Required
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering or computation field plus 10-12 years, MS plus 8-10 years, or PhD plus 5-7 years of professional experience in manufacturing engineering positions.
- 3+ years of professional working experience manufacturing engineering of high complexity products (aerospace, space, medical).
- Experience with Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar tool sets.
Preferred
- Experience participating in advanced design concept reviews and providing DfM and DfT feedback.

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
