Job Overview
The Warehouse Specialist Supervisor serves as an operational front-line leader responsible for supervising day-to-day warehouse and distribution activities supporting DLA Distribution Albany at Marine Corps Logistics Base (MCLB) Albany. This position provides direct oversight of warehouse personnel and ensures operational execution aligns with contractual requirements, customer expectations, safety standards, and mission objectives.
The Warehouse Specialist Supervisor coordinates receiving, storage, inventory control, material accountability, and distribution activities while maintaining workforce productivity, operational readiness, and service continuity. The role supports contract performance through effective employee leadership, workflow coordination, operational reporting, and compliance with Government and organizational requirements.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties
- Supervise warehouse personnel performing receiving, storage, inventory management, issue, and distribution operations.
- Coordinate daily work assignments and manage operational workflow to support mission requirements and service delivery objectives.
- Monitor warehouse productivity and operational performance and implement corrective actions to address deficiencies and improve outcomes.
- Ensure warehouse operations comply with contractual requirements, Government procedures, operational standards, and established warehouse processes.
- Maintain accountability for inventory control, operational documentation, warehouse records, and reporting requirements.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, accountability, and safeguarding of Government-furnished materials and property.
- Conduct operational quality checks and support inventory audits, inspections, and compliance activities.
- Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with applicable safety requirements and installation procedures.
- Provide coaching, training, and day-to-day leadership to warehouse personnel to promote workforce readiness and operational excellence.
- Support workforce scheduling and labor coordination to maintain operational continuity and meet customer demands.
- Coordinate with leadership to resolve operational issues and support continuous improvement initiatives. Perform additional operational and supervisory duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
Mandatory
- Minimum five (5) years of experience supporting warehouse, logistics, distribution, supply chain, or comparable operational environments.
- Minimum two (2) years of supervisory or team lead experience overseeing warehouse or logistics personnel.
- Demonstrated experience supervising receiving, storage, inventory control, and distribution functions.
- Experience coordinating daily work assignments, workforce scheduling, and operational workflow execution.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor operational performance metrics and implement corrective actions.
- Experience ensuring compliance with operational procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Experience utilizing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or inventory tracking platforms.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational capabilities with the ability to lead diverse teams.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required background screening and any required Government authorization.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to successfully complete pre-employment requirements.
Preferred
- Experience supporting Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) warehouse or distribution operations.
- Experience supporting Department of Defense logistics or Federal service contracts.
- Familiarity with Government warehouse systems such as DSS or MCPALS.
- Experience supporting inventory audits, compliance inspections, or quality control activities.
- Experience supervising larger warehouse teams or multi-shift operations.
- Prior experience supporting operations at Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany or comparable
- Government logistics environments.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed in active warehouse, storage, staging, and logistics environments.
- Position requires routine interaction with Government personnel, warehouse staff, and operational leadership.
- May require exposure to varying temperatures, material movement areas, loading operations, and industrial environments.
- Schedule flexibility may be required to support operational demands, surge requirements, and mission continuity.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk throughout warehouse and operational facilities for extended periods.
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, carry, and move materials consistent with operational requirements.
- Ability to operate standard office and warehouse equipment.
- Ability to visually inspect inventory, warehouse activities, and operational work areas.
