Overview

Provides exceptional, patient-centered service by supporting established financial processes that facilitate accurate billing, timely collections, and efficient management of professional services. Responsibilities include charge entry, application of coding and billing guidelines, insurance verification, obtaining service authorizations, reviewing patient account details, maximizing collections, and providing financial counseling to patients.

This role is responsible for resolving front-end edits, claim rejections, and information requests to support practice financial goals and ensure a seamless patient experience. The position requires frequent interaction with internal and external customers and serves as a key resource in coordinating financial and administrative processes.

May be required to float to other UFHP practices or adjust schedules as needed to support staffing requirements and operational needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of business, financial, or physician practice experience required, preferably in patient accounts, billing, or collections.
  • Knowledge of CPT and diagnosis coding preferred.
  • Experience with the EPIC system preferred.
  • A four-year degree may substitute for two years of required financial or physician office experience.
  • An associate degree or equivalent coursework may substitute for one year of required experience.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to professionally collect payments and provide financial counseling to patients.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and resolve issues effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while maintaining a high level of customer service.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • None required.

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation

  • None required.
