Overview

GDC IT Solutions is currently seeking a .net Application Architect.

As an Application Architect, you will be responsible for designing and modernizing enterprise applications, developing scalable solution architectures, and leading AI-augmented development initiatives while ensuring security, accessibility, and regulatory compliance.

  • Architect secure, scalable .NET (C#/ASP.NET Core) applications and SQL Server solutions using Clean Architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and performance optimization best practices.
  • Develop enterprise solution architectures across applications, APIs, databases, services, and integration platforms to ensure long-term scalability and maintainability.
  • Lead application modernization efforts by designing migration strategies for legacy applications to cloud-native architectures.
  • Design advanced SQL Server data models, T-SQL solutions, indexing strategies, partitioning, Query Store tuning, and high availability/disaster recovery (HA/DR) solutions.
  • Define enterprise integration strategies using REST APIs, messaging, authentication, and data exchange between Microsoft, IBM, and third-party platforms.
  • Establish architecture standards, coding standards, reusable design patterns, and technical best practices across development teams.
  • Drive adoption of GitHub Copilot, including prompt engineering, AI-assisted refactoring, automated code reviews, documentation, and testing.
  • Design and implement modern software delivery practices, including source control, branching strategies, CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, environment management, and DevSecOps.
  • Develop modernization roadmaps, evaluate technical debt, and recommend phased migration strategies.
  • Produce architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and lead architecture reviews and proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives.
  • Mentor development teams on .NET architecture patterns, GitHub Copilot best practices, and enterprise development standards.
  • Ensure solutions comply with Commonwealth IT security policies, WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards, PII protection requirements, and Zero Trust security principles.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and commercial software products to support the PUC's long-term technology strategy.
  • Provide technical leadership during project planning, solution estimation, architecture reviews, and implementation activities.

  • Extensive experience architecting enterprise applications using .NET (C# and ASP.NET Core).
  • Strong expertise with Microsoft SQL Server, including advanced T-SQL development, performance tuning, indexing, partitioning, and Query Store optimization.
  • Experience designing enterprise solution architectures spanning applications, APIs, databases, and integration platforms.
  • Experience implementing Clean Architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and scalable software design patterns.
  • Experience designing REST APIs and enterprise integration solutions.
  • Experience leading application modernization and cloud migration initiatives.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and automated deployment strategies.
  • Strong understanding of IT security, Zero Trust architecture, PII protection, and WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards.
  • Experience producing technical architecture documentation and leading design reviews.
  • Excellent technical leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder communication skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience leading enterprise adoption of GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted software development practices.
  • Experience with prompt engineering, AI-assisted refactoring, automated documentation, testing, and code reviews.
  • Experience integrating Microsoft, IBM, and third-party enterprise platforms.
  • Experience developing modernization roadmaps and evaluating technical debt.
  • Experience evaluating emerging technologies and providing strategic technology recommendations.
  • Experience working within a regulated government or utility environment.
