Position Summary Painter Location: Orlando, FL Department: Facilities / Plant Operations Job Type: Full-Time Bring Your Craftsmanship to a Mission-Driven Environment Orlando Health is seeking a skilled Painter to support the maintenance and appearance of our healthcare facilities by providing high-quality painting, surface preparation, and repair services. This role plays an important part in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and professional environment for our patients, families, visitors, and team members. What You'll Do As a Painter, you will: Perform painting assignments based on work orders, project requests, and verbal instructions. Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, and repairing imperfections. Apply primer, sealers, and finishing materials using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and other approved methods. Mix paints, match colors, and tint materials to achieve desired finishes. Protect furniture, flooring, equipment, and surrounding areas from paint, dust, and debris. Remove paint spills, overspray, and ensure areas are restored after completion. Install and repair wallboard, base, ceramic tile, floor tile, and wall coverings as needed. Perform glass and glazing repairs when required. Safely operate and maintain painting tools, spray guns, ladders, staging, and related equipment. Follow proper safety procedures for handling, storing, and disposing of paints, solvents, and other materials. Maintain inventory of paint supplies and equipment. Place appropriate safety signage, including wet paint warnings, to maintain safe work areas. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace. Prioritize work requests and communicate project updates, concerns, or delays to leadership. Maintain confidentiality and security of facility, medical staff, and patient-related information. Participate in department meetings and support Orlando Health policies and procedures. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Three (3) years of professional painting experience. Knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, materials, and equipment. Ability to work safely with ladders, staging, tools, paints, and solvents. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Preferred Qualifications Experience in commercial, healthcare, industrial, or institutional painting environments. Experience with drywall repair, wall coverings, tile installation, and finishing work. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. Knowledge of workplace safety practices and proper chemical handling. Why Orlando Health?
