Job Overview
Fairview is seeking a Casual Laboratory Staffing Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will support staffing operations across Fairview laboratory locations while enjoying the flexibility of remote work. This position offers variable hours with 8-hour shifts scheduled as early as 5:00 AM and as late as 4:30 PM. While the majority of the work is performed remotely, occasional onsite meetings at various Fairview clinic and hospital locations are required to support collaboration and operational needs. The Laboratory Staffing Coordinator plays an important role in scheduling and deploying staff to meet the daily patient care needs of assigned laboratories. This job requires the ability to handle multiple, conflicting priorities. The ability to multi-task, organize work and communicate in a clear, consistent, and open style is critical for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Provides daily staffing support
- Assigns workforce based on staffing guidelines and needs for daily staffing to volume
- Creates and updates core staffing templates in conjunction with supervisors.
- Prioritizes and problem solves scheduling and daily staffing for each laboratory to provide adequate staffing coverage, diverting/reassigning staff based on patient/provider volumes.
- Works collaboratively with leader to provide input about staffing needs for system resources for all positions including weekly schedule.
- Effectively communicates with leaders and staff to ensure staffing needs and expectations are being met.
- Responsible for processing and managing all staffing requests for time off and other scheduling revisions, updating timekeeping system as needed.
- Tracks and provides staffing information to leaders regarding:
- Staffing profiles
- Trends
- Needs to demonstrate effective and efficient utilization of staff
- Facilitates monthly site staff meeting for staffing changes and problem-solving issues.
- Understands staffing systems and how it is used to create monthly staff schedules timely and accurately for assigned laboratories.
- Accurately inputs and updates staffing system with long term and day to day staffing changes.
- Collaborates with laboratory leadership to ensure staff is compliant with regulatory and competency requirements and information is included in scheduling system as appropriate.
- Assists laboratory leadership in competency management.
- Leads efforts to fully utilize and optimize technical aspects of staffing tools
Required Qualifications
- 1 year experience in staffing or scheduling.
Preferred Qualifications
- A.A./A.S.
- 2 years of experience in staffing or scheduling.
