Responsibilities

We are looking for a visionary, compassionate leader to champion our Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Program. In this role, you won’t just manage operations, you will shape a structured, recovery-focused environment that bridges specialized skilled medical care with long-term healing. As the Program Director, you will guide a dedicated interdisciplinary team, advocate fiercely for resident dignity, and build the clinical and community frameworks that empower individuals to successfully transition back into their lives. Your Impact & Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Daily Operations

Drive Program Excellence: Oversee the daily operations of the SUD Program, ensuring standard-setting compliance with CMS regulations, state requirements, and facility policies.

Champion Quality Improvement: Track program outcomes and actively lead Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives to constantly elevate our standard of care.

Empower the Community: Build and nurture strong, collaborative relationships with acute hospitals, behavioral health networks, and community recovery resources to ensure seamless continuity of care.

Interdisciplinary Clinical Oversight

Lead the Care Continuum: Partner closely with Nursing, Physicians, Admissions, Social Services, and behavioral health providers to build truly individualized, holistic treatment plans.

Gatekeep & Assess: Collaborate on prospective admissions to determine program appropriateness and ensure that comprehensive Social Service and Recreation assessments capture every resident’s unique strengths and psychological needs.

Masterful Discharge Planning: Work together with residents, families, and the care team from day one to map out robust utilization management and safe, sustainable discharge plans.

Advocacy & Specialized Care

Advocate for Patient Rights: Serve as a fierce protector of resident rights, dignity, strict confidentiality, and personalized goals.

Support Modern Recovery Modalities: Drive the success of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services, actively supporting residents utilizing Methadone and Suboxone.

Manage & Mitigate Risk: Oversee proactive case management, navigating relapse risks, behavioral health needs, drug screening protocols, and comprehensive program compliance.

Inspire Through Engagement: Ensure vibrant recreation and socialization opportunities are fully integrated into each resident’s daily recovery journey.

Team Mentorship & Documentation

Educate and Inspire: Develop and deliver impactful staff education focused on substance use disorders, trauma-informed care, and modern behavioral health interventions.

Maintain Compliance: Ensure all government, state, and organizational documentation requirements are meticulously met. Actively monitor and support departmental compliance within PointClickCare (PCC).

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of experience in behavioral health, or substance use counseling.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Social Work, Behavioral Health, Psychology, or related field preferred.
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or program management experience preferred.
  • Experience with Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) programs preferred.
