COBA, Center for Entrepreneurship - Learning Lab Store Manager

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for all store operations, team performance, and Center staff communication.
  • Conduct weekly check-ins with each team lead, review progress reports, and ensure all team responsibilities are on schedule.
  • Oversee daily store operations: confirm inventory is on the floor, cleaning standards are met, social posts are going up, and all scheduled responsibilities are being met.
  • Prepare and run the Monday management meeting agenda in coordination with Center staff. Rotate meeting leadership among team leads as appropriate.
  • Build and manage the staff schedule within the allocated labor budget, using the P&L to inform staffing decisions beyond baseline needs.
  • Document staff issues and concerns according to the store strike and notice policy and escalate to Center staff early.
  • Manage store supply needs and cleanliness standards on an ongoing basis.
  • Participate in mentorship and leadership guidance with the Entrepreneur-in-Residence through the Center.
  • This position requires a minimum of 15 hours per week.

Required Qualifications • Demonstrated ability to hold peers accountable and follow through on commitments.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Comfortable making judgment calls and escalating issues without waiting to be asked.
  • Familiarity with the store's operations, team structure, and weekly rhythms.
  • Availability to lead Monday staff meetings at 10:00 a.m. is required.

Required Education • Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at Belmont University.

  • Sophomore standing or above required.

Required Experience • Prior experience as a Learning Lab Store Associate is required.

  • Experience on the Management team is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with store POS system, the store P&L, and team scheduling is expected.
