Production Technician
Production • Injection Molding (IM) & Compression Molding (CM)
Job Summary
Provides technical operational support to the production process by monitoring and adjusting machines, equipment, and process conditions to ensure stability, continuity, and compliance with quality standards. Supports routine problem-solving, technical startups, and operational checks, building technical judgment on machines, molds, materials, and process behavior.
Reporting Structure
- Reports to the Plant Manager

What You’ll Do
- Operate and monitor production machines and equipment, addressing routine deviations in startup, adjustments, defects, mold and compound behavior, and operating conditions.
- Diagnose and correct process issues beyond basic level, reviewing analysis sheets and identifying root causes related to machine, mold, compound, operation, or inserts.
- Perform in-process quality checks, validating products and molds against technical specifications and reporting deviations.
- Coordinate with supervisors, operators, maintenance, lab, and planning on efficiency, defects, cycle time, and product stability.
- Maintain accurate production records, analysis documents, and traceability of adjustments and shift events.
- Follow safety rules, PPE requirements, ISO 9001 guidelines, and area work instructions.
- Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to operators on startups, adjustments, and process control.
Requirements
- Education: Highschool or GED or a related technical career (Mechanics, Industrial Maintenance, Production Supervision, or similar).
- Experience: 1–2 years in technical industrial support roles.
- Knowledge: Injection and compression molding operation; process parameters (temperature, pressure, cycle time, curing); mold and compound behavior; defect identification; technical sheet interpretation; ISO 9001 record-keeping.
Special Skills
Clear communication and documentation of diagnoses and results; active listening to apply technical instructions and safety procedures accurately; strong collaboration with fellow technicians.
Physical & Environment Requirements
- Stand, walk, and move throughout the production floor for a full shift (8–12 hours).
- Lift/carry up to 50 lbs occasionally, 25 lbs frequently; frequent bending, reaching, and use of hand/finger dexterity for machine controls and tools.
- Visual acuity to detect defects and read gauges and specifications.
- Tolerate exposure to heat, noise, vibration, fumes, and moving machinery; wear required PPE throughout shift.
- Available to work overtime when needed.
