CERTIFIED ATHLETIC TRAINIER - WORK REHABILIATION SPECIALIST

Olympic Sports & Spine (OSS) is looking for Certified Athletic Trainers to join our organization. Hours are Monday - Friday 4x10 or 5x8s between 7:20 AM - 6:00 PM.
Pierce County Locations: Lakewood, Parkland, Puyallup 112th, Spanaway, South Hill, Tacoma Mall BLVD and Tacoma Allenmore.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to join our Occupational Medicine and Work Rehabilitation team. This unique role is dedicated exclusively to the care of injured workers , focusing on occupational injury management, work rehabilitation, return-to-work programs, and functional restoration.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with workers' compensation populations and possess expertise in acute work injury management, work conditioning and work hardening programs, job demand analysis, and return-to-work coordination . This position requires exceptional communication and collaboration with Occupational Medicine providers, C laims M anagers, N urse C ase M anagers, V ocational R ehabilitation C ounselors, employers, and other stakeholders to facilitate safe, effective, and timely return-to-work outcomes. The successful candidate is passionate about helping injured workers safely return to productive employment
Essential Responsibilities
- Treat injured workers and assist in the development of individualized rehabilitation and return-to-work plans.
- Deliver and oversee Work Conditioning and Work Hardening programs designed to restore function and prepare employees for job-specific demands.
- Manage rehabilitation programs for workers recovering from occupational injuries .
- Perform job demand analyses and incorporate work simulation activities into treatment programs.
- Monitor injured worker progress and provide objective functional updates to Occupational Medicine providers and workers' compensation stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with inter-disciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and alignment of treatment goals.
- Communicate regularly with PTs, OTs, claims managers, vocational rehabilitation counselors, nurse case managers, employers, and other case stakeholders regarding progress, restrictions, and return-to-work recommendations.
- Educate injured workers on injury prevention, body mechanics, safe work practices, and recovery expectations.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and objective documentation in compliance with workers' compensation and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in interdisciplinary case reviews and return-to-work planning meetings.
- Assist with ergonomic assessments and workplace injury prevention initiatives as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training from an accredited program.
- Current Board of Certification (BOC) credential for Athletic Trainers.
- Current state licensure/certification as required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in one or more of the following:
- Occupational Health
- Industrial Rehabilitation
- Workers' Compensation
- Work Conditioning/Work Hardening Programs
- Sports Medicine Rehabilitation
- Knowledge of musculoskeletal injury evaluation and rehabilitation.
- Strong understanding of return-to-work principles and occupational rehabilitation.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with medical providers, employers, claims adjusters, vocational counselors, and case managers.
