About The Role

Working Hours: 35 Hours Per Week (As part of a rota, working Monday to Friday between 7am to 8pm, and 1 in 3 Saturdays between 9am and 5pm. Please see the attached example rota as a guide for a possible shift pattern.)

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Additional Payments: 6.7% Flexibility payment

The Anti-Social Behaviour Team has a key role to play in making sure Manchester is a safe place to live and visit. If you are passionate about delivering a high quality, trauma-informed service to help tackle antisocial behaviour, with a key focus on prevention and early intervention, then we want to hear from you.

If successful, you'll be joining a specialist team driving forward our key priorities of making Manchester's public spaces - especially Piccadilly Gardens and other high profile locations - attractive and safe areas. You will lead a team of officers, in uniform, who will provide a highly visible presence, predominantly in Piccadilly Gardens, working with partners to engage with, support and, where necessary, enforce against anyone perpetrating anti-social behaviour.

About the Candidate

You will need to have a background in face-to-face engagement with members of the public in a support and enforcement setting. You will need to demonstrate line management experience, and/or or experience of coaching and training ASB practitioners. You will need to demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of informal and formal ASB powers to stop anti-social behaviour and protect the public.
  • Knowledge of developing positive and effective working relationships across a variety of partnerships.
  • Confidence in your ability to lead a team and support, guide and coach team members to meet the challenges presented by Manchester City Centre community safety and ASB issues.
  • Ability to make informed decisions at speed and explain your rationale for your decision making.
  • The ability to design and develop training packages across the Community Safety Partnership.

You need to be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check and Police Vetting.

It is desirable that you are willing to drive, and have a full, clean driving licence
