Fire Extinguisher Technician

Job Summary Perform Annual Maintenance, 6-year Service, Recharges, Hydrotesting and Replacements.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Dismantle extinguishers and examine tubing, horns, head gaskets, cutter discs, and other parts for defects. replaces worn or damaged parts.
• Clean extinguishers and recharge with various agents, including soda water and sulfuric acid, carbon tetrachloride, nitrogen or patented solutions or other.
• Test extinguishers for conformity with legal specifications.
• Install cabinets and brackets to hold extinguishers.
• Facilitate and support sales of fire extinguishers. Benefits

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• or one to three years related experience and/or training
• or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Driver’s License with Clean Driving Record.
• Current Extinguisher Permit (If new to industry, will train and provide Contracted Fire College admission, lodging and per diem).

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Walk Stairs.
• Work off ladder.
• Lift at least 50 lbs. Requirements
