About You
- You enjoy solving complex system and process problems with practical, scalable solutions.
- You can work independently and take ownership of integrations from discovery through deployment and support.
- You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- You document your work well and create clear support material for future maintenance.
- You are curious, hands-on, and willing to investigate issues until you find the root cause.
- You care about reliability, data quality, security, and a good internal user experience.
- You are comfortable working across teams and balancing business priorities with technical constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the integration platform roadmap and day-to-day operation, ensuring business-critical automations are reliable, observable, and maintainable.
- Partner with business and application owners to turn process gaps into pragmatic integration designs and delivery plans.
- Build Workato recipes, custom connectors, and reusable patterns that reduce manual work and improve data flow between systems.
- Maintain and modernize existing integrations, including legacy AWS Lambda based services where appropriate.
- Define standards for authentication, error handling, logging, versioning, and change management across integrations.
- Investigate incidents across Workato, APIs, cloud services, and source systems, coordinating fixes with vendors and internal teams.
- Support API lifecycle activities such as testing, schema validation, payload mapping, and contract changes.
- Identify opportunities to consolidate, simplify, or retire integrations as the business systems landscape evolves.
- Document architecture, data flows, dependencies, runbooks, and ownership so integrations can be supported sustainably.
- Evaluate advanced Workato capabilities, including MCP functionality, where they can improve automation or internal platform use.
Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Workato, including recipe design, connectors, environments, deployment practices, and platform governance.
- Solid understanding of integration architecture patterns, such as event-driven flows, batch synchronization, orchestration, middleware, and exception handling.
- Practical API skills covering REST, GraphQL, webhooks, JSON, pagination, rate limits, schema changes, and common authentication methods.
- Confident use of Postman or similar tools for API exploration, test collections, troubleshooting, and documentation.
- Working knowledge of AWS services, especially AWS Lambda, plus related concepts such as IAM, CloudWatch, API Gateway, and serverless operations.
- Ability to read, adapt, or write scripts in Python, Ruby, JavaScript, or a similar language when Workato recipes require custom logic.
- Good understanding of data quality, transformation, mapping, validation, and reconciliation between business systems.
- Security-minded approach to credentials, secrets, access control, auditability, and sensitive business data.
- Experience with monitoring, alerting, incident response, and root-cause analysis for production integrations.
- Familiarity with Workato MCP functionality is highly desirable.
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain technical trade-offs and document decisions for future support.
- Fluency in English, written and spoken, is required.
