Fitter - Class 2 SF

The role is responsible for the maintenance, installation and commissioning of mechanical plant and equipment to the required standard in your area of responsibility.

Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Safe achievement of maintenance tasks to support production performance.
• Ensuring that the work area is maintained to the required housekeeping standards.
• Ensuring all safety devices are operational and in use.
• Conducting and participating in Risk assessments
• Attending to breakdowns and emergencies as required.
• Checklists and inspections are up to date and accurate.
• Assessment of employee competency as required.
• Maintenance of machinery and equipment.
• Ensuring that materials, spares and equipment are available as required
• Completing job cards and description of work and spares used (PM’s)
• Taking responsibility for the proper discipline of any subordinates.
• Reporting any contraventions of the Mining (Management and Safety) Regulations, codes of practice, instructions, permissions, exemptions etc
• Exercising judgment with regards to replacement of components
• Applying appropriate tools to complete tasks
• Reporting timely and accurate information
• Supporting, coaching and participating in the training and development of subordinates and apprentices
• Ensuring proper and adequate on the job training and coaching is provided to subordinates
• 5 O’Levels subjects including Mathematics, English and Science
• Trained and Certified Competent as Class 2 Fitter
• A minimum of 2 years experience .
• Must be familiar with SHEQ Systems.
