Are you ready to join a team of talented engineers and shape the future of airports?

Our Aviation Infrastructure team is based in our AECOM Basingstoke, Croydon, Manchester, Birmingham and London offices and are passionate about creating innovative, resilient, and sustainable solutions for airports of all sizes - including major commercial hubs and greenfield airports to general aviation airfields and military installations.

Each team member has a development plan to provide a clear pathway to personal development and career progression. The team provides technical solutions throughout the project lifecycle from masterplanning, feasibility, preliminary and detailed stage designs and construction and handover. Our clients are many and varied from both the private and public sector and include airport investors, airport operators and major contractors.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Design: contribute to airport engineering projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, vehicle service roads, aeronautical ground lighting and signage installation, navigational aids, drainage improvements, utility relocation and protection, and pavement rehabilitation on a wide variety of civil and military multi-disciplinary aviation projects
  • Produce: engineering calculations, design reports, project definition documents, and construction plans. Contribute towards works programmes and contract documentation including technical specifications
  • Investigate: undertake asset condition inspections on site and report on the condition to asset owners to enable strategic decisions to be made on capital project planning
  • Organise: Take ownership and demonstrate responsibility for delivery of assigned tasks in alignment with project programme and budgets
  • Collaborate: with multi-disciplinary design teams consisting of airport planners, architects, engineers and technicians across the UK and Europe. Attend client meetings and contribute to discussions with project stakeholders around designs that you have developed
  • Assure: Undertake self-checking of deliverables and participate in the design review processes. Demonstrate a commitment to AECOMs Quality Assurance processes and procedures.

If you're passionate about innovation and turning bold ideas into reality, AECOM welcomes you. Join our team, where we don't just design airports, we connect cities, regions and counties to drive economic growth, and build legacies for future generations.
