BIM Specialist - Electrical (Data Center projects)
Job description
We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical BIM Specialist - Electrical to join our team in Mumbai, India. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing comprehensive Building Information Models (BIM) for electrical systems on data center projects. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration, accuracy, and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise in electrical systems, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality BIM models that drive project success.
- Develop, model, and maintain detailed BIM models for electrical systems in data center projects using industry-standard software and best practices
- Coordinate electrical BIM models with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) teams to identify and resolve clashes and conflicts
- Perform clash detection analysis and generate comprehensive reports to ensure model integrity and constructability
- Create and manage electrical specifications, schedules, and technical documentation within the BIM environment
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of electrical models to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project standards
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to communicate design intent and resolve technical issues
- Analyze complex electrical systems and infrastructure requirements specific to data center operations
- Maintain organized model libraries, templates, and standards to ensure consistency across projects
- Support project teams with BIM-related problem-solving and process optimization
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings and provide technical recommendations for design improvements
- 3-5 years of professional experience in BIM modeling, electrical design, or related technical roles
- Advanced proficiency with Revit (or equivalent BIM software) for electrical systems modeling
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and data center infrastructure
- Demonstrated experience with MEP coordination and clash detection workflows
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant design and documentation tools
- Experience with BIM coordination platforms and project management tools
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Experience on data center, critical infrastructure, or large-scale commercial projects (preferred)
- Knowledge of energy management systems and sustainable design practices (preferred)
- Familiarity with BIM standards, protocols, and industry best practices (preferred)
- Proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary team environments
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
