Job description

Are you an experienced IT professional who enjoys leading technical readiness activities and working closely with stakeholders to deliver successful migrations?

This role sits within NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS), supporting NHS organisations as they transition onto shared platforms. You’ll play a key role in ensuring local IT environments are fully prepared for go-live – from infrastructure and connectivity through to end-user readiness. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that values practical problem-solving, proactive communication, and delivering real impact to NHS services.

We can offer great career progression opportunities, ability to be based anywhere across the UK, benefits which you can flex to meet your needs, and training and development opportunities.

This is a mobile role, with travel to client sites UK wide as required.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading the assessment and validation of local IT infrastructure and desktop readiness for platform migrations.
  • Advising stakeholders on end-user requirements, including devices, access methods, and connectivity.
  • Coordinating and supporting testing activities for connectivity and infrastructure readiness.
  • Owning IT Readiness Checklists, ensuring evidence is captured and readiness outcomes are clearly defined.
  • Supporting go-live and hypercare activities, ensuring effective transition into business-as-usual support.
  • Managing stakeholders and third-party dependencies, acting as a senior point of contact for escalations.

What you’ll bring

  • Strong experience in desktop or end-user computing support and/or infrastructure support in complex environments.
  • Proven experience delivering within projects such as migrations, rollouts, or transformation programmes.
  • Working knowledge of networking and internet protocols, with practical troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with experience working to deadlines.

It would be great if you had

  • Experience working with NHS organisations or within shared service environments.
  • Experience supporting platform onboarding or multi-site rollouts.
  • Familiarity with service transition concepts such as handover to business-as-usual and hypercare support.

If you’re interested in this role but not sure if your skills and experience are exactly what we’re looking for, please do apply, we’d love to hear from you!
