Cadet Drafter - Civil

Are you looking to kickstart your career in engineering design and drafting? We are seeking a Cadet Drafter to join our growing Transport team. This is an exciting entry level opportunity where you will gain hands on experience across Rail, Roads, and Civil infrastructure projects while learning from experienced engineers and designers.

About the Role

As a Cadet Drafter, you will work under direct supervision to support the development of drawings and basic 3D models using industry-standard CAD software. You will contribute to real projects while building a strong foundation in engineering drafting standards, workflows, and systems.

Key Responsibilities

Produce basic drawings and 3D models using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Tekla)

Set up drawing files in accordance with company standards and procedures

Extract and apply information from engineering specifications, standards, and supplier documentation

Maintain electronic filing and document control for your work

Support engineers and senior designers with technical drafting tasks

Collaborate within multidisciplinary project teams to understand engineering workflows

Ensure work is completed in line with quality, safety, and environmental standards

About You

Certificate IV or Diploma in Building Design, Engineering Design & Drafting, or similar (or currently studying)

Introductory experience with at least one CAD software package (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D)

Strong interest in engineering and the practical application of technology

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and develop new skills
