HR Associate
Job description
We are seeking an HR Associate to join our team on a consulting basis for an exciting 6-month engagement. As the HR Associate, you will play a key role in managing and streamlining HR operations while driving the execution of HR strategies aligned with our organizational goals. You will be at the forefront of developing and implementing HR policies, managing employee relations, and contributing to our overall HR strategy. Your expertise will be pivotal in ensuring that our company continues to attract, retain, and nurture top talent. Key Responsibilities
HR Operations Management: You will oversee the day-to-day HR functions, ensuring that processes are executed efficiently and effectively. From payroll processing to compliance checks, you will ensure that all HR operations run smoothly and that employees have a seamless experience with HR services.
Strategy Implementation: You will be responsible for executing HR strategies that are aligned with the business's short and long-term goals. This includes driving HR initiatives that foster a positive work environment and ensure operational excellence across all HR functions.
Policy Development and Compliance: As part of your role, you will develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Nigerian labor laws and industry best practices. This includes maintaining employee handbooks and making sure that all policies are up to date.
Employee Relations and Engagement: You'll be the go-to point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and conflict resolution, ensuring that employee relations remain positive. You will be proactive in building a strong organizational culture and fostering an environment that promotes engagement, motivation, and a high level of morale.
Performance Management and Development: Supporting performance management processes, you will help drive employee development through performance appraisals, feedback systems, and coaching. You'll assist managers in identifying training needs and in developing personalized plans to nurture talent within the company.
Recruitment and Onboarding: You will take charge of managing recruitment efforts, from advertising job openings to conducting interviews, and facilitating the seamless onboarding of new employees, ensuring they feel welcomed, informed, and ready to contribute.
Training and Development: You will help identify skill gaps within the organization and assist in planning and organizing training programs that align with business needs and career development goals for employees.
Employee Wellbeing and Retention: By ensuring strong communication, promoting work-life balance, and implementing wellness programs, you will play a key role in supporting our employees' wellbeing and contributing to long-term retention strategies.
Who You Are
Experienced and Knowledgeable: You have a strong background in HR management with a deep understanding of HR practices, employee relations, and Nigerian labor laws. You have experience implementing HR strategies and have the ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day HR operations.
Proactive and Results-Oriented: You take initiative and are driven by results. You have a passion for problem-solving and take ownership of tasks to ensure that objectives are met. You’re constantly looking for ways to improve systems and processes.
Excellent Communicator: Your communication skills are outstanding, and you know how to foster relationships at all levels of the organization. You can effectively manage employee concerns, support leadership, and drive HR initiatives.
