JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Physician – Anesthesiology • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Lewisburg, PA • Service Setting: Hospital • Coverage Type: Clinical + Call • Coverage Period: August 17, 2026 – Ongoing (13-week assignment) • Clinical Shift Schedule: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (10-hour shifts) • On-Call Shift Schedule: 16-hour call shifts and occasional weekday night call (3:00 PM – 7:00 AM) • Call Type: In-House COVERAGE DATES • August 17: 16-hour call + 10-hour shift • August 21: Two 10-hour shifts • August 24: 16-hour call • August 26: 16-hour call • August 28: 10-hour shift • August 31: 16-hour call • September 1: 16-hour call • September 3: 10-hour shift • September 4: Two 10-hour shifts • September 15: 16-hour call • September 18: 10-hour shift • September 21: 10-hour shift • September 25: Two 10-hour shifts • October 2: 10-hour shift • October 12: 10-hour shift • October 16: 10-hour shift • October 19–23: 10-hour shifts each day PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: All ages • Patient Volume/Census: Varies by anesthetizing location • Case Mix: Vascular, OB/GYN, General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Pediatrics, Plastic Surgery, Orthopedics, Robotics, and Urology FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 135-bed Hospital • EMR System: Epic • Support Staff Available: CRNAs (1:3 CRNA-to-room ratio) • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage (3–4 FTEs needed monthly) PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 90 days • Expedited Credentialing: Available for providers with a clean file (Temporary Privileges) COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: Competitive (Inquire for Details) • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • General Anesthesia • Regional (Nerve Block) Anesthesia • Spinal Anesthesia • Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC) • Ultrasound-Guided Regional Techniques JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active Pennsylvania Medical License Required • Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology • Certifications: ACLS and PALS Required • Experience: Two years of experience preferred • Other Qualifications: • Must be comfortable taking occasional weekday night call (3:00 PM – 7:00 AM). • Must be proficient in regional (nerve block) anesthesia for a high volume orthopedic service. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide anesthesia care across multiple surgical specialties in a hospital setting. • Administer general, regional, spinal, and monitored anesthesia care. • Perform regional nerve blocks using ultrasound-guided techniques. • Supervise and collaborate with CRNAs while maintaining a 1:3 supervision ratio. • Participate in scheduled day shifts, 16-hour call coverage, and occasional weekday night call as needed.
