Location: 1 Dixon Square, Chestertown, MD 21620
Shift Hours: 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
Pay Range: $45,000-$60,000

The Dixon Group is looking for a HR Assistant to join our team! We are looking for a proactive, organized, and collaborative Human Resources Assistant to support our growing HR team and champion our company culture. In this role, you will assist with day-to-day HR administrative operations, act as a key support system for the broader team, and help coordinate special projects and company events. What You'll Do
- Provide high-level support to the HR department and leadership by managing calendars, preparing meeting agendas and minutes, and overseeing office supplies and food deliveries.
- Maintain the absolute accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of digital and physical employee files within our HRIS, while also scanning documents for electronic filing.
- Coordinate a seamless onboarding and offboarding experience for staff, create and reissue employee ID badges, and process UKG password resets.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute internal company events, meetings, and employee engagement activities, including managing invitations, catering, and technology setup.
- Assist with the administration of employee benefits, timecards, leave, safety protocols, and training programs.
- Assist with the research, planning, and rollout of strategic HR initiatives such as updating handbooks, implementing new software, or launching training programs.
- Respond to general administrative inquiries, draft and edit documents, and provide backup coverage to the Receptionist for breaks, lunches, and PTO.
What We're Looking For
- 2 to 4 years of related working experience in a customer support, HR assistant, clerical, or administrative role.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field strongly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to manage sensitive, highly confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Strong prioritization, time-management, and problem-solving skills to effectively handle changing priorities and administrative challenges in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Adobe, and Canva; previous experience with HRIS software (like UKG) and project management tools is highly preferred.
- Prior experience in meeting coordination or corporate event planning is a strong plus.
