Job description
Job Summary Provide specialized surgical care across a range of procedures and patient populations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe perioperative management and support clinical quality improvement. Number of Positions 3 Main Duties Assess patients, obtain surgical histories, and determine appropriate operative interventions. Perform scheduled and emergency surgical procedures using established techniques and technology. Provide preoperative evaluation and postoperative care, including management of complications and follow-up. Collaborate with anesthesiologists, nurses, and allied health professionals to plan and coordinate perioperative care. Supervise and mentor surgical trainees, residents, and operating room staff and participate in clinical education. Maintain accurate medical records, participate in quality assurance activities, and engage in continuing professional development and research. Requirements Doctor of Medicine (MD or equivalent) degree from an accredited institution. Completion of a recognized residency program in surgery and any required specialty fellowship training. Specialist certification or equivalent recognition in surgery and eligibility for medical licensure in the relevant province or territory. Demonstrated clinical surgical experience, including experience with complex operative cases. Thorough knowledge of perioperative care, sterile technique, and patient safety protocols. Strong communication skills, ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, and commitment to continuous learning.
