Job description
General Purpose of Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for overseeing the client’s primary caregiver, including PCA
Testing for Parts 2 and 3 for new hires and evaluation of patients for each required cadence.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with employee orientation.
- Supervise the performance of PCA work assignments to clients.
- Evaluates the client’s needs during the initial face to face visit and subsequent visits.
- Identifies the appropriate staff to provide the care needed.
- Develops and revising client service plans as appropriate.
- Reviews the contents of the service plan at least quarterly to ensure compliance with
regulatory agencies and internal quality controls.
- Completes clinical record reviews, nursing notes, and documentation of supervisory visits.
- At least once annually, assist in completing an in-home supervisory visit to observe the inhome
performance of PCAs.
- Supervises any services provided for medically fragile clients and defines those types of clients
appropriately. (If Applicable)
- Conducts in service training for staff.
- Report any problems or progress to the Administrator.
- Other administrative duties as assigned by Administrator.
Education, Skills and Experience Requirements
- A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Georgia with two (2) years’ experience in
home health or a related field. Experience working with the elderly, physically and mentally
disabled and veterans is preferred.
- Ability to supervise and coordinate the work of others, evaluate situations and make decisions.
- Communicate and deal effectively with others.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Maintain CPR and First Aid certification, auto insurance and annual TB screening
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Environment: Work is performed primarily in patient’s private home with extensive patient
contact. Due to the nature of the work, the aide may be exposed to bodily fluids and odors on
an occasional basis.
- Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work with a patient;
to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach,
and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 30 lbs); and
to verbally communicate to exchange information.
- Vision: Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust
focus.
- Hearing: Hear in a normal audio range, with or without correction.
Addition: We pay $1.00/mileage reimbursement for travel
