Fyfe work with a wide range of clients in the Energy & Resources and Property & Infrastructure sectors to provide high quality, commercially pragmatic solutions with a strong focus on client service and delivery.

About the role

Our Energy and Resources Division works with major energy developers to deliver large scale Wind, Solar, BESS and gas projects across the country. These include greenfield projects for new energy developments and brownfield projects to expand or upgrade existing facilities.

There is an opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects. In the renewable energy sector, typical projects include Electrical Balance of Plant (EBOP) for large wind farms, solar farms and BESS projects. In the gas sector, typical projects include 33kV – 11kV distribution network design, well site facilities, pipelines, gas compression facilities, water treatment and transfer facilities.

We are recruiting for a Senior Electrical Engineer to be based in our Philippines team and work remotely to support our team and clients in Australia. The successful candidate will initially be hired by our partner agency in the Philippines as Fyfe builds our presence in the Philippines.

Skills & experience

We are looking for an experienced qualified Senior Electrical Engineer with 8+ years' experience within a design consultancy working in the renewable energy, onshore gas, or power industries.

  • You have experience in the delivery of electrical engineering design within a design consultancy.
  • You are experienced in undertaking LV and HV power generation and distribution systems design and equipment selection such as circuit breakers, transformers, PFC etc.
  • You are fluent in using software such as Etap, EMTP or PS CAD for electrical systems modelling.
  • You are experienced in HV and LV power system studies including but not limited to load flow, short circuit, fault loop impedance, cable sizing, arc flash, discrimination and protection, TRV and EMT transient analysis earthing and harmonics.
  • Producing electrical drawings such as single line diagrams, schematic diagrams and cable block diagrams comes as second nature.
  • HV & LV Switchboard design experience as per AS 61439 and familiarity with Instrumentation and control systems are an advantage.
  • You have practical working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards such as AS 3000, AS 3008, IEEE 1584, NFPA 70, IEEE S80.
  • Design Experience with the following systems will be highly regarded
  • Underground reticulation design
  • Primary Engineering design to Australian standards
  • Wind, Solar or BESS electrical design experience

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering
  • 8+ years relevant experience for a design consultancy
  • Previous exposure to Australian projects
  • Diverse experience including experience on Energy projects
  • Proven experience in design, analysis, and delivery of electrical works in energy projects (renewables, transmission, substations, hydrogen, oil & gas, or power generation).
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, codes, and regulations
  • High level communication, interpersonal and team management skills
  • Advanced time management, planning and organisational skills
  • Advanced initiative and ability to solve problems
