Loan Servicing Specialist I - (FT Temporary - 6 months)

ABOUT THIS ROLE
This position is responsible for the maintenance of all loan products which include credit cards, residential, consumer, indirect and commercial loans. Handles various tasks related to credit card operations and the management of the credit unions loan portfolio. Processes subordinations, lien releases, lending-related payments including payoffs, reversals, and assisting with disbursements. Prepares loan payoff statements for customers.
Fulfills loan servicing requests from members and employees in a timely manner as well as overseeing sub servicers as needed and monitoring insurance coverage.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Support credit card operations by assisting with credit limit reviews, processing adjustments, and ensuring SCRA compliance.
- Receive and log debt protection claims, maintaining accurate records and supporting member service efforts.
- Manages the tracking and documentation of vehicle and vessel collateral related items, including SI1 filings and title application reconciliation.
- Conducts payment processing functions, including but not limited to posting loan payments, reversals, and loan disbursements.
- Processes loan payoffs, collateral release documents and total loss documents.
- Collaborates with third-party vendors to coordinate insurance renewals, cancellations, billing, and force placement of insurance monthly.
- Researches and fulfills daily consumer/indirect loan maintenance requests from the Branches, Indirect Lending, Collections, Contact Center, and other departments within a predetermined time frame as designated by the department supervisor.
- Completes assigned cView daily and monthly reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Utilizes tact and experienced-based knowledge to resolve member (internal and external) issues, explaining specific policies and products while representing the Credit Union in a professional manner and maintaining positive customer relations.
- Assists in preparing and obtaining file for departmental related audits related to Loan Operations / Compliance, including the review of the completion of risk assessments within WolfPAC.
- Assists in testing new core system applications/modules as well as new releases for existing modules including performing release management, new products/services, etc.
- Assists management with ensuring appropriate procedures for all residential and consumer servicing functions are following all applicable regulations and laws.
- Analyzes existing processes to identify areas for operational efficiency using technology and automation.
- Ensures department is following all regulatory requirements including CFPB, Dodd Frank, Reg Z, RESPA, SCRA, GLBA, Investor guidelines and department policies and procedures.
- Performs other loan servicing processes and clerical related duties as assigned by the Loan Servicing Supervisor(s) or VP of Loan Servicing.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) education required.
Experience / Skills/Knowledge
- 2-year prior experience in banking required preferably with payment processing experience, underwriter or in Lending Compliance.
- Demonstrated knowledge of lending policies and procedures, laws, and federal/state regulations required.
- Excellent verbal, written, telephone and interpersonal communication skills required. Communicates clearly and precisely. Listens carefully and asks questions to clarify understanding.
- Strong member/customer service orientation in alignment with the credit union's mission and core values required.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment required.
- Must be results-focused to support the achievement of corporate and sales goals.
- Must have the a bility to handle simultaneously, multiple tasks and changing priorities as well the ability to work independently required.
- Must be willing to participate in self-development initiatives, including attending department and organizational meetings, educational sessions, seminars, or courses as requested.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving skills required.
- PC proficient, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, PPT), the Internet required.
- Some travel for training and or business-related reasons required.
- Ability to function in a financial institution environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to fax, copier, telephone, etc. Ability to lift minimum of 25 pounds .
